I don't know if maybe its the timing btwn when the last book came out to this one but i was really disappointed. I really wanted to like this book but i just didn't feel any excitement for it and finished only because I'd come this far in the series.First i think the storyline w Connor just felt strained. It just read as a villain that when he came on the scene you think to yourself...you again? Why are you still here?Another thing that didn't get was Levy's relationship w Garrett. Nothing was really mentioned abt why they liked each other. You didn't feel any pull. Most of their conversations basically were Levy saying how hot Garrett thought he was and Garrett agreeing and joking ard abt how confident he was in his looks.Same could be said w the relationship w Lucas and Savannah. She loves the fang, Levy is a suck block (what are we 5?) And Lucas is a bit of an a$$. I get that he is Master vampire but his attitude and tone towards Levy kind of...sucked.The best part of the book was the ending and the new character introduced earloer on that they deal with. That was great to read abt and i wish they delved into the place and why that character was there. What is Dorian to Her? Why is she so childlike? So many questions but i guess we'll see where that leads.Another reviewer mentioned that Ms Hunter is a repeater and that strikes again here. From how many times we hear why she prefers to go by Olivia, to being told abt supernatural beings great hearing and ability to tell lies, to why Hanah had to die, and how much more powerful Connor was.I really wanted to like and looked forward to this book but it was a big disappointment. I can't say I would recommend this and not sure I want to read more.
I decided to give this series a try because it sounded intriguing. However, it was lackluster. There was, obviously, just enough to keep me somewhat interested because I finished the series. However, it’s very repetitive, focus is given to areas where it should have been a mention, and some things are mentioned briefly when focus should have been directed to them.Conner was one of the worst villains I’ve ever read. He had the potential to be great, yet, it was always the same thing with him. He showed up in the story way too often. Overall, I found myself skipping over or skimming most of the fight scenes with him and others because of the repetition. When I read about Menta, I saw great potential for several chapters, or a book of its own, based on their time on the island. Yet, it was rushed. So disappointing. As I stated before, I read the entire series because I hoped it would get better, but unfortunately, it didn’t. While the series isn’t great, it isn’t terrible, but I probably won’t read this author again.
I am very sad to see this series come to an end. I really feel that there is plenty more story to be told. I really enjoyed all of the characters, the action, the adventure, the banter. I will be rereading this series many times over. I will miss sexy and cocky Gareth and my girl Levy who is tough yet vulnerable. While I feel that this book leaves room for more, I also feel that the ending makes sense for the span of time that the series covers and for who Levy is and how she has had to live her life up to this point. The book is fast paced and easy to read, but so difficult to let go of.
A Perfect ending to an amazing series!! Just when you think this series cant get any better it does.. I definitely recommend reading this book..I could not put it down.. Mckenzie did an amazing job with how this series ends...as sad as I am that the series is over i was very happy with this book and how it ended
This was the first of this genre I've read in quite a while. I'd become disenchanted with the lack of originality. The Legacy concept, combined with a different slant on the other characters was refreshing. And i loved Savannah. Of course now I want the next book. Surely you're not going to leave me hanging, McKenzie? I just binged on all 4 books and this volume ended with the perfect segue into the next. You'll be sorry if you aren't as eagerly waiting as I am.
This continues the story of Levy which gets better organized and forcefully told with clarity. How about that Conner guy? Rasputin got nothing on him.
I sooooo enjoyed this series, it was so well written and exciting! I loved all the characters and their interactions, even in perilous times. Great job, McKenzie Hunter, thank you!
Although the first book was interesting I enjoyed this one the best. I wasn't dissapointed with the ending. It made sense.
